Gilchrist Park Activity Center Project
THE FUTURE OF GILCHRIST PARK – WE VALUE YOUR OPINION
A portion of Gilchrist Park is currently closed to the public due to a renovation project expected to last approximately one year. After that a possible next phase of the renovation of Gilchrist Park could be the replacement of the two buildings located adjacent to the current playground and basketball court area. These buildings are commonly known as the Punta Gorda Boat Club and YMCA Bayfront Building. While this project is currently unfunded, the Punta Gorda City Council has asked TEAM Punta Gorda to collect input from the community relative to the future use and development of the site which is occupied by these buildings. TEAM Punta Gorda is very interested in learning what types of activities people would like to see offered on the site, and what implications that may have on the development of the facilities.
